ABOUT PETROSLIDES

The PetroSlides lab is located in Flagstaff, Arizona at the base of Mars Hill (where Pluto was discovered). Here slide production is a collaborative effort between Steve Schoner and his friend Rob Reisener who provides technical advice gratis.

Steve has worked in the field of meteorite recovery (via the American Meteorite Survey) for more than thirty years. Formerly a journeyman machinist, Steve now uses his expert technical skills to manufacture quality thin sections of meteorites. In his spare time Steve enjoys writing novels and restoring his historic home formerly owned by Clyde Tombaugh, discoverer of Pluto.

Rob is a geologist with more than 25 years of experience in the preparation and analysis of solid materials. He enjoys making thin sections of meteorites, petrified woods, and other intriguing geologic samples.

The business side of PetroSlides (bookkeeping, packaging, etc.) is managed by Diane Schoner.
